Zebra’s new one-sided, full colour plastic card printer is a leap forward in user-friendliness. It features fool proof ribbon loading and an LCD display that gives a lot more information than previous generations of the Zebra range.

Innovative Printer Design
In previous designs of card printers, the weight of cards caused misfeeds and card jams. Now, using a patent-pending angled feeder mechanism, the weight of cards ensures that the cards are fed into the printer consistently. The new printhead assembly is not like the rigid ones of previous printers, rather it uses a “floating gimbal” mechanism which allows the printhead to adapt to differing card thicknesses and surfaces, ranging from 10-mil to 60 mil cards (0.3mm to 1.6mm thick).
Factory installed options include magnetic stripe encoding and smart card encoding station. This last feature will allow the P330i to encode ISO 7816 standard chip cards (the commonest type of smart cards), HID iCLASS and MIFARE contactless cards.
USB is included as standard in all variations of the Zebra P330i. Ethernet connectivity is available as a factory pre-installed option, or can be field upgraded. A 200 card print stacker option is also available as an after purchase option, which will allow users to queue up to 200 ID cards and walk away.

Many features of the admittedly superb Privilege range have been improved upon, especially the card entry and exit areas, with the removable exit card hopper now being incorporated into the printer body. Automatic ribbon detection really reduces the level of skill needed to use this machine.
