of Holographics
A hologram is a security feature used for plastic cards. It is a two dimensional representation of a three dimensional object. When viewed from different angles, the object portrayed changes colour, shape or position. The process used to create holograms is hard to reproduce if the original model and camera configuration is not known.
Also holofoil, used in foil printing, is a rainbow refractive foil used as a lower cost substitute for a true hologram.
Also holographic overlay, which is a transparent overlay film printed onto a completed plastic photo ID card as security feature. Stock hologram overlays are available for most brands of plastic card printers, which is convenient but also devalues the overlay films as a reliable anti-copy feature.
