Secure, Easy-to-use card production with Card Five software
CardFive is produced by Spain-based NFive software (http://www.nfive.com).
Now in it’s 8th release, it’s the easiest-to-use and most
versatile of the plastic card design programs available.
CardFive is a complete card production suite, compatible with any plastic
card printer on the market today. It provides a simple way to produce
plastic cards, either one-off or connected to a database. Card backgrounds,
colour logos and other graphics can be incorporated into a card design
easily.
Features:
User Privileges
CardFive Professional can be set up to include usernames and passwords,
with User access allowing the administrators to see cards printed and
detailed audit logs. Users are prevented from making unauthorized copies
of cards.
Export To Image
Export a card image from CardFive to a bitmap.
Object List
List all card objects on the plastic card design workspace
Duplex Capability
CardFive is compatible with a wide range of plastic cards including
double-sided ones.
Database View
A table view is available for all linked tables in a database. User
can filter by selection or alphabetically.
SQL Queries
SQL queries such as less than, exactly equal to and so on are
available to narrow down, filter selections in a table.
Contactless Testing
CardFive now comes with a contactless smart card test centre that allows
users to encode contactless plastic cards such as HID and MIFARE Cards.
Protect Image Tool
Images such as logos and other card components can be protected from
accidental editon and deletion.
Drawing Tools
Standard drawing tools such as line, square and circle are included
in all versions of CardFive software.
Image Security Filter
This feature allows a second, faded image of the cardholder to be featured
somewhere else on the card.
Transparent Image
This feature allows a cardholder image to be faded to a certain level
of transparency.
Cut Out Colour
Cut out colour removes a colour of a certain RGB value to a certain
tolerance from the image. This allows a card designer to remove the
background of the cardholder image so the background is visible.
Face-Snap Module
Additional module which automatically crops out photographs to the facial
area.
Database Security
Using ODBC database connectivity, card files can be viewed by individual
record. This allows a user to find a particular card and reprint it
if required. User and password login feature provides a method to control
and monitor usage of the card printers, with auditing and tracking facility
which can show which staff member printed what card.
Database Compatibility
CardFive professional versions allow connections to any ODBC-compliant
databases, which means that bespoke applications running SQL, Oracle
and other systems can interface into the software. This is ideal for
systems administrators who don’t wish to deal with another layer
of complexity in their IT overview.
Image Capture
CardFive is compatible with any TWAIN compliant imaging device, so any
digital camera or motion camcorder can be used to capture cardholder
images live, using a viewfinder option and built in Image Tools. Captured
images can be brightened, cropped and contrast adjusted.
CardFive also comes an interface for various signauture capture tablets,
including Topas, WaCom and others.
Version Functionality
CardFive software comes in three different versions:
Classic (Lite) is an entry level version offering basic printing options
but no database connectivity.
Premier is a far advanced version, with ODBC, SQL and other types of
database connectivity. Professional has all the features of the Premier,
with network functionality for mulitple card printing stations connected
via LAN or VPN.
Physical Security
CardFive licences operate using a SmartCard and USB reader, once the
card is removed the software will load but no cards can be printed,
and no databases can be accessed.
Network Licences
Additional network licences can be purchased for CardFive at a reduced
cost for network-wide licences. The networked licenced seats must be
able to view the master executable for CardFive over the network, via
a mapped network drive.
